My first Pine Siskin showed up in the backyard Sunday, and there were a
half-dozen in Riverview Cemetery this afternoon. Also notable the past
few days, neighborhood starlings have once again morphed into
flycatchers and swallows, taking advantage of departed competition to
expand their niche.
