Mike and Vicky Stephens and I birded Lake Rathbun this a.m. and had  13
waterfowl species and we also had an extradinary amount of American Coots -
we estimated 7000. Unusual  among the waterfowl were 40 Horned Grebes. We
also had nine sparrow species and many Harris, which is tough  sparrow for
us for us . Pipits and a Hermit thrush were also found. Mike and Vicky had
a Spotted Towhee a few dys ago but not relocated on this beautiful fall
