Mike and Vicky Stephens and I birded Lake Rathbun this a.m. and had 13 waterfowl species and we also had an extradinary amount of American Coots - we estimated 7000. Unusual among the waterfowl were 40 Horned Grebes. We also had nine sparrow species and many Harris, which is tough sparrow for us for us . Pipits and a Hermit thrush were also found. Mike and Vicky had a Spotted Towhee a few dys ago but not relocated on this beautiful fall day. Tom J.
