NOVEMBER 12TH FIELD TRIP
Meet in the parking lot of the Visitors' Center at Saylorville Lake at 8
a.m. on Saturday, November 12th.  Dress for conditions and bring a beverage
and snack for break.  Contact Denny Thompson at 515-254-0837 for information

Tuesday, November 15th Program, 7  PM
Lead in the Environment, Toxic Implications for Humans and Wildlife
Wildlife Rehabilitators across the country have been documenting an alarming
number of bald eagles being admitted with lead exposure and poisoning. For
the last six years, Saving Our Avian Resources (SOAR) has collected data
from Iowa rehabilitators to be able to monitor lead poisoning in Bald Eagles
in Iowa.  Kay Neumann, Executive Director of the nonprofit, Saving Our Avian
Resources (SOAR) will present the program and will be bringing education
birds with her for the program.

Meetings of Des Moines Audubon Society begin at 7 p.m. and are held in the
lower level of Westminster Presbyterian Church, which is located at the
corner of Beaver and Franklin Avenues in Des Moines. Parking is available on
the north and west sides of the church and an elevator can be accessed at
