Hello, Since the heavy snow over the weekend, the varied thrush in my yard has been more regular. I raked an area free of snow under a feeder and it seems to spend most of its time there. It has been there at first light and then off and on throughout the day. Hopefully it will stick around for our Christmas count. Also all our area lakes seemed to be skimmed over with ice except West Okoboji Lake. This afternoon , a quick scan of the lake from the SE corner showed a smattering of waterfowl - mallards, schovelers, ruddys and a few goldeneyes along with 400+ canadas.
