A day late and a dollar short. Out for a luchtime run last Wed (1/18)spotted one of Waverly's resident Pileated Woodpeckers. Male--working around holes on a large tree near the Cedar River (Cedar Lane). As he moved away from the hole I caught a flash of white within the cavity. May have been the mate, but did not get a positive verification--DM
