IA-Birders,

I live in SE Missouri. Have to be in Fayette, IA first week of February on
business. Will be driving up and back. I am able to create a little bit of
time at the end of the trip to do some birding in IA.

I'd like to ask for any suggestions on good places to bird. I don't see much
in the way of postings for the Fayette area, i.e. Fayette county, Volga River.

Where would be good places to bird around there or anywhere south of there in
Eastern Iowa (as I drive back to Cape)?

Any "northern" birds would be good. Of interest that I have seen on this list
recently would be WW Crossbills, Snow Buntings, Snowy Owls and gulls seldom
seen down here like Iceland, Glaucous, Thayer' and Mew. Where in Eastern IA
Fayette area or south would be good places to see these? On the Owls I realize
it can change so will be watching the list up until I head out birding.

Any suggestions most welcome!

Thanks,

Dave Starrett
