Walt and Iowa birders -

A good resource for directions to places mentioned in the RBA (compiled from
messages in this list) is the Gazetteer on the IOU website. IOU members,
when they are logged in, can add or update directions. I encourage everyone
to use this great tool.

I'll try to simplify. The directions from Tama County (or anywhere from west
of the Quad Cities): I-80 east to I-280 (can only go one direction) to
Highway 22/Rockingham Road, the last Iowa exit. Left on 22/Rockingham for
about a mile, go past the US 61 overpass. About 1/4 mile after 61 is a
Tastee Freez restaurant on the left. Just after that on the left is the
entrance to the cemetery. That is the lower part and the conifers there are
where the crossbills are often found.
