Trying to ice skate soft rough ice wasn't much fun so I put on the
hiking boots for a little walk through the willows. Lots of mice and
raptors about. Flushed a flock of eight to ten medium gray/brown
birds. First reaction was why are all these horned owls bunched up?
Fortunately, one of them hung back for a stare down. My last long
eared owl siting was a fly by in similar habitat in a snow storm thirty
years ago. From Williams Prairie Cemetery going east, take first road
headed north. If you went through the T at the river, that would be
the woods.
