After an extensive search today I finally relocated the male
BARROW'S GOLDENEYE at Pool 14. My last stop was at the Illinois
side of L&D 14 and I was surprised to find the Barrow's there,
among C. Goldeneyes. It was upriver just a hundred yards or so.

On the Iowa side of L&D 14 a flock of gulls had settled on the
frozen duck pond. The notables (continuing in the area) were:

 1 1W Great Black-backed Gull
 1 Juv. Iceland Gull
 1 Adult Lesser Black-backed Gull

Interesting today was a pair of Bonaparte's Gulls at L&D 15 and
later at L&D 14. Did they follow me up river or does each dam
have its own pair? All were in Iowa waters.

Also, in the evening a surprising number of Tundra Swans (26)
were grouped at the upper end of Butterworth Parkway in Moline.
