I found a Snowy Owl on "A" Avenue just north of Rapp Park. The owl was north of
the river on the west side of the road.
I last saw it on a brush pile east of the "T" intersection of 170th and "A."
This is my first Page County Snowy Owl.
Lots of geese in the area--more Greater White-fronted Geese than I've ever
seen. Large flocks of Snows and Blues are in
the area. Most of these birds should stay around as long as there is snow north
of us.
There are 10 Trumpeter Swans and thousands of Mallards and Pintail's are
roosting on the river north of Rapp Park.
If you want to see large numbers of GWFG, Snow geese, and a possible Snowy Owl,
it's a good time to come to SW IA.
