Late Saturday afternoon (around 5:30 PM) at Cone Marsh as I was driving east
on 220th street near the public parking area I watched two Northern Harriers
fly out of the south across the road toward the prairie on the east side of
the marsh. moments later a pair of Sandhill Cranes flew high over the road,
coming out of the southeast part of the marsh, and landed in a grassland not
terribly far south of 220th street. Cranes were first of the year for me.
