Folks,

I led a group of students from my vertebrate evolution class to Cone Marsh this
morning to watch waterfowl. There were some early green-winged teals and a
handful of ring-necked ducks, gadwall, and wigeons, but the assemblage was
dominated by mallards, pintail, shovelers, and geese. We didn't see any Ross'
or cackling geese, but we weren't using a spotting scope. The three trumpeter
swans were still present.
