A fairly dreary day, what with low light and snow at times. There were two pair of Hooded Mergansers. One of the Bald Eagles was fishing, and other was sitting on the nest with only her head visible from the paved trail below, on the other side of the river.
I'm hoping that Gray's Lake gets full of migrating birds soon. The work on the northeast part of the shoreline last fall, while needed, I'm sure, put a serious crimp in the numbers of waterfowl stopping over.
