Yesterday around 6:30 pm, while doing yard work, I heard an Eastern
Pewee's song twice. Whatever made the sound sang only the first part, the
"pee-a-wee." I suppose it could have been an actual pewee, but it's a bit
early. There were plenty of bugs out, so food should have been available.
The location was near the Bill Riley Trail, north of the "peninsula" in
Water Works Park. I've heard starlings make similar whistles, but not such
an exact imitation.
