Attended the Bald Eagle Release program today (Saturday) at McFarland Park NE
of Ames with my 4 yr old grandson. We got to see the live Red-tailed Hawk
demonstration. He spread his wings several times, too! My grandson quietly said
in my ear, "He makes a beautiful sound!" ( I guess he was enjoying his quail
lunch!) The storyteller kept his attention pretty well, and the Bald Eagles
were so awesome! What a wonderful experience when they released both of them
and they flew off to freedom! My grandson just loved it, too! It would be so
interesting to know where they went! : ) Afterwards we really enjoyed the
rest of the park - the lake, the prairie, and a long walk in the woods! What a
lovely day to enjoy so many wonderful parts of God's Creation, including the
special little person in my care!
