On the northern frontier of Boone Co., in the Section immediately south of
Bjorkboda Marsh, Rebecca Christoffel and I saw a loggerhead shrike on the
fence line and power line at the roadside of 110th St., 1/4 mile west of
where Inkpadota Rd. comes in from the north. This is by a creek that cuts
across this Section from the northwest toward the southeast. This shrike
observation, today, March 25, 1012, is near where the creek runs OUT of
this Section. On March 26, 2010, Rebecca and I saw a loggerhead shrike in
this same Section, up where this creek runs INTO this Section, by a dam and
a pond with waterfowl. There is a pasture with cedars at this spot by the
dam, which seems like fine loggerhead shrike habitat.

In short, the bird is in the same Section, about 3/4 of a mile downstream
from our original observation almost two years ago to the day.
