This afternoon at Babcock Access (Hawkeye Wildlife Area) I flushed
a SHORT-EARED OWL. The location was at the extreme north end of the
access road (far past the cement blocks) in the area of the old ramp
and pile of gravel. It was sitting in the dried vegetation on the
east side and flew slowing across the channel where it sat for a few
minutes before disappearing.

Also along the access were Eurasian Tree Sparrows and Fox Sparrows
but I didn't see much scoping from the shoreline.
