Hi,
I found a Glossy Ibis along with 6 White-faced Ibis this mourning at a wetland
in Mills County.
The wetland is IA DNR property, but is not in the "Iowa Sportsman's Atlas". As
far as I know it has no name. It is just east of Keg Lake on the east side of
I29.
The area is bordered on the south side by Nellen Road, Marh Ave on the north
side and 215th St. on the east side.
>From Bartlett take L31 north to Paddock Ave. turn right, go east to Painter
>Road, turn left (north), Nellen Rd is about 2 miles to the north of Paddock
>Ave.
The Ibis were feeding in the wetland just off the north side of Nellen Rd.
Monday (7:00 AM) at Forney Lake I found a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron (2nd-yr)
and 6 Black-crowned Night Heron.
I did not relocate any night heron today.
Also White-winged Doves have return to my feeders and are nesting somewhere in
the neighborhood.
