A dozen Avocets were at the Ventura Marsh, on the north side of the water, off of S14 at the south edge of Ventura. A scope is needed to see them well. Park in the DNR parking lot opposite the water.
My first Yellow-headed Blackbird for the year was seen this a.m. at Knudtson's Pond. There were many shorebirds around at various spots but most were Pecs with Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs.
