Walking around Swan Lake yesterday and today, I observed a Broad-Winged
Hawk, a Sharp-Shinned Hawk, a Red-Tailed Hawk, an adult female Northern
Harrier, and at least 3 Osprey. Sandpipers have been making themselves at
home along the shoreline and the adjoining wetlands. In the past 24 hours
alone, I have seen numerous Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, 2 Dunlins, 3
Pectoral Sandpipers, 3 Spotted Sandpipers, a Solitary Sandpiper, and AT
LEAST 9 Wilson's Snipe. (Upon arriving in the park yesterday morning, I
noticed a big flock of rather large birds that I initially thought to be
Cormorants. However, when I looked closer, I realized that they were
Ibises. Sadly, my 'nocs aren't all that powerful, so I wasn't able to
determine whether they were Glossy or White-Faced. Sadder still, the birds
were nowhere to be seen today)
Today alone, I obsreved Song, Harris's, White-Throated, Swamp, Chipping,
White-Crowned, and Lincoln's Sparrows.
I was also delighted by the sight of two warbler species other than
Yellow-Rumped: Orange Crowned and Palm.
Other notable observations from the past 24 hours include American White
Pelican, Horned Grebe, Sora, Eastern Towhee, and Ruby-Crowned Kinglet.

Happy Birding To All!
