Ray Cummins, Larrry Piatt , and I birded the Sedan area in Appanoose
County after work this afternoon. We had 700 Pectoral, 8 Semi-palmated
Plover, 50 Long-billed Dowithchers, 2 Wilson's Phalaropes, 50 Greater and
500 Lesser Yellowlegs along with one Peregrine Falcon at the Dean wetlands.
Along the way we had one Eastern Kingbird and a Great Egret. This a.m. I
heard and saw a Rose-breasted Grosbeak at home and my wife had a Scarlet
Tanager later in the morning at our yard and Mike Stephens reported
a Scarlet Tanager in his yard also this morning.
