Hello All! Are you interested in learning more about grassland birds? On Saturday, May 12th at 9:00am, Neal Smith NWR's biologist, Karen VisteSparkman, will be leading a morning bird hike to search for spring bird migrants and returning residents! Birders of all ages and experience are welcome to participate and binoculars will be provided. Participants interested in joining the bird hike should meet at the front desk of the Prairie Learning Center at 9am.
Throughout the morning, there will be children's activities as well. There will be arts and crafts and two 30 minute raptor shows with live raptors presented by the Iowa Wildlife Care Clinic at 11:30am and 12:00pm. Also, visitors will be able to experience beautiful children's artwork featured in the Iowa Junior Duck Stamp Art exhibit, which is showing in the Prairie Learning Center's art gallery.
