I stopped by Lake Manawa today to see what was new. The water level is down at
the lake especially compared to last year. I am certain the river level has a
lot to do with that. There is a lot more muddy shoreline and today there were
some interesting birds.
American Avocets - 3
Solitary Sandpipers
Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs
Long billed Dowitchers
Forester's Terns
There were more shorebirds but kite flyers spooked them before I could get a
good look. There are still a lot of coots and ducks that were moving around
avoiding boats. It has certainly been an interesting spring for the lake.
