I walked into the woods as the last drops of rain were falling. The birds
were singing their hearts out. Thirteen species of warblers including five
lovely Bay-breasted. Great-Crested Flycatcher and E. Wood Pewee. Two
Gray-cheeked and any number of Swainson's Thrushes. An E. Towhee with
Catbirds and a Brown Thrasher, Grosbeaks. There were numbers of Red-eyed
Vireos and at least one Yellow-throated Vireo. About one hour later
everything was gone except for the thrushes and Catbirds. The birds were
anxious to move on north, I guess.
