Shorebird numbers haven't been great lately but there was an
increase in peeps today. At the end of James Ave. and along the
shoreline to the west were over a hundred shorebirds including
a RUDDY TURNSTONE (transitional plumage). In the area I flushed
an American Woodcock from the willows.

Also many peeps and resting Dunlins were at Round Pond.

The Mallard Ponds area had 2 Sandhill Cranes which possibly are
summer residents. Along that access road, Henslow's Sparrows have
been vocal in the prairie grasses.

A singing Prothonotary Warbler has been regular on the east side
of Greencastle Ave. just south of Swan Lake Road. That's the
Gun Club Ponds.
