Sorry for the late post but... you know, old age. Had a Birdathon to raise money for Loess Hills Audubon on May 12th. A number of teams were out with the top group (no me) turning in 140+ species. Did tally 102 species between 12:45 and 8:15PM. Very low numbers of warbler species (3) and gull/tern (2). One highlight were 18 species of shorebirds (hundreds of birds at the Tannery) including 3 maybe 4 Red-necked Phalarope and a Marbled Godwit. Best bird Western Grebe--MidAmerican (Port Neal ponds) found by Dave Stage and Bob Livermore.
Nice birds: Bobolinks (8) at Table Marsh (first sightings there that I know of) and at Owego (6) Cattle Egret 2 Green Heron 3 Strange but true: Great Blue Heron 1 for the entire day Great Egret ZERO Indigo Bunting ZERO Yellow-headed Blackbird ZERO No American or Least Bitterns yet.
