This morning I did some BBA work/birding in each county. At the Saylorville WA in Dallas Co. I found a singing Olive-sided Flycatcher, Yellow-throated and Blackburnian warblers, a Clay-colored Sparrow, and a pair of Summer Tanagers. At Jester the woods were full of migrants including Alder Flycatcher, Veery, Northern Mockingbird, and 13 warbler species including a male Pine, Blackburnian, a singing male Connecticut, and 2 Mourning. On the lake I saw 4 Hudsonian Godwits, 4 Ruddy Turnstones, and the continuing Common Terns. I also found a surprising singing male Yellow-throated Warbler in a cluster of sycamores in Madrid.
