I was surprised to see a Scarlet Tanager at my farm yesterday. My farm
borders Davis Timber, just southeast of Dedham.

On the evening of July 3rd, I went out to Swan Lake. The water level has
been drawn down about 4 feet for vegetation management. There is a big
mudflat on the west side with hundreds of Killdeer. There was one
Semipalmated Plover in the mix, along with a few other small peeps I could
not identify.
