I don't mean this to be a commercial message, but we have a farm house in clay county that folks could use to stay over in for a night or two. It is too good to demolish but not good enough for permanent occupancy. You would have running water, electric and that would be about it. Send an email if there is interest. Moderators feel free to take this down if it violates any policies. This area has a lot of activities, but is a ways away from central Iowa. Of course free range to bird watch on the property would be allowed.
