My phone and e-mail have been buzzing with questions about the fall meeting. Thank you for taking the time to ask. You may not be the only wondering.
Can I still register for the meeting? We will close on line registration tonight so we can organize for the registration table but we will still take latecomers at the meeting. Just check in at the registration table. Getting late meals may not work out. The $20 registration fee covers activities for the whole weekend, we do not break it down by day. Where do we enter the Fischer Community Center? Go north from the Best Western Regency Inn 2 miles on Center Street. It will be on the west side of the road across from the big HyVee and just before the river bridge. Park on the east side and enter the doors on the east side. Are there field trips for people that cannot walk very far? Yes, but we may not have a leader to take you there. One nice place is Grimes Farm that has a nature center and bike trail along some nice bird habitat just outside of Marshalltown. There are other places nearby as well that probably should be birded. Maps and info are available at registration. We will have stick on name tags for everyone. We have considered alternatives to the stick on tags. If you have collected plastic name tag holders that slip over your neck at other conferences bring them and slip your name tag into it instead. The social and breakfasts are at the Best Western Regency Inn in Mr. G's. Look for signs. There will be a lot of new faces mixed in with veteran meeting goers. Take time to hear birding stories from as many people as you can. See you this weekend.
