Hello Birders,

I searched for the Swallow-tailed Kite previously spotted near Otter Creek
Marsh this morning from 6:30 - 9:30 AM and was unable to re-locate it.
However, I did enjoy scoping 13 species of shorebirds both including a
single Buff-breasted Sandpiper and 7 Stilt Sandpipers. The Buff-breasted
was observed off the levee below the observation platform and the Stilts
were observed from the barn. The most interesting (and fun) was observing
13 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds feeding on Jewelweed flowers in various parts
of the complex. At one point I had 4 individuals within 3 feet of me
battling for who was going to feed next!

Take care,

Tyler Harms
