Gerald makes a good point.  Two people, during the IOU weekend, wondered why we 
did not use transmitters when on field trips since it would make it so much 
easy to let people know in the other cars what was being seen instead of maybe 
opening a car door a spooking the bird.

We sometimes use them on Loess Hills Audubon Society field trips but not 
everyone has one or brings it.

The new ones are relatively inexpensive and had 5-6 mile ranges.

Many of us have cell phones but not all have each other's numbers and you can 
only call one person at a time.
