Birders,

While out on a very unsuccessful hunt for monarch butterflies this afternoon, I
took a quick peek at the lake here at Swan Lake State Park. The shorebird
habitat is fantastic, but I just had a second to scan a small piece of
shoreline. There are hundreds of shorbs right now, many ducks, many black
terns, and near the southwest corner of what's left of the lake was a single
SANDERLING. I'm hoping to have more time to do a more thorough search of all
the craziness on the mudflats tomorrow.

Bird on...
