Have you heard of the NPR program called “Bird Note”? Possibly not, because it is not broadcast on any of Iowa’s public radio stations! But now you can listen to the 2-minute program every day on the Iowa Audubon website. Just go to www.iowaaudubon.org and click on the “Daily Bird Note” link at the lower right side. Listen to the podcast on your computer or download it to you iPod or mp3 player. There is a new bird, or bird-related, story posted each day. Bird Note was originally a creation of a local public radio station in Seattle and the Seattle Audubon Society. It proved so popular that it was picked up by NPR and is now broadcast in many states—but not yet in Iowa. So bookmark Iowa Audubon’s website and listen to an interesting new story about birds every day.
