This morning while at Greenbelt Lake, I saw a female Spotted Towhee on the NorthWest side of the lake near the trail in some thickets that were between the trail and the lake. I flushed a f.O.Y. Snow Bunting along the shore of the lake in the same area as the Towhee, when all of a sudden, a Merlin came out of nowhere in pursuit of the Snow Bunting! Fortunately, it was the Snow Bunting's lucky day and he escaped! My dad relocated the S. Towhee later in the same area.
