This morning Stuart and I took Cooper and Zeno for a walk along the Des Moines River in NW Des Moines, on the Trestle to Trestle Trail starting from Bob Lenc garden center. We saw or heard 4 singing CAROLINA WRENS along about a 3/4 mile stretch. We frequently hear one or see a pair along here at various times, and occasionally have them visit our yard not too far away, but it was surprising to hear so many singing at once.
From one spot we could hear three singing at once, including one across
the river, and the fourth one was 1/2 mile away when we had seen it so we assume that was not one of the same ones.
