I birded around Saylorville yesterday morning and this morning. Nothing outstanding but a number of birds that would be welcome on CBC day if they stick around another week: 1 Common Loon -- off Cherry Glen 1 Great Blue Heron -- below the dam 8 pelicans -- two groups, mostly healthy birds 8 Killdeer -- Jester 2 Dunlin -- Jester, today ties the 3rd late date 1 Red-breasted Merganser -- with Commons off the dam 1 Surf Scoter -- the previously reported bird 1 Belted Kingfisher -- below the dam 1 Carolina Wren -- singing from the ravine at the Big Creek spillway Aaron Brees Saylorville, IA http://www.flickr.com/photos/abrees/
