Yesterday was the Taylor County CBC, and we had a record 61 species for the count! We had 6 participants. The highlights were 9 species of waterfowl (2 American Black Ducks were a first for the count), Great Blue Heron, Northern Goshawk (1st for the count), Red-shouldered Hawk, Merlin, 3 Short-eared Owl, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Northern Shrike, 2 Carolina Wren, Hermit Thrush (1st for count), and Pine Siskin (1st for count).
