Bernice & I attended NW Iowa's Obrien County annual Bald Eagle Watch, which was
held yesterday (the first Saturday in March each year).

They offered several activities focused on Bald Eagles throughout the Little
Sioux Valley, and the center offered superb eagle watching opportunities right
from the nature center windows, where scopes were set up, and we viewed
everything from juveniles to adults.

Bumped into NW Iowa's 'Bird Man' Lee Schoenewe, and enjoyed a brief chat. Lee
was busily guiding folks to a nearby eagle nest and acquainting them with the
area and other birds. I suspect Lee may offer an update later..

I presented two showings of "The Return of Iowa's Bald Eagles" to more than
200 people, and was totally impressed with the attendance at this event, when
you consider there are no large cities close-by!

Perched upon a lofty hill-top, Obrien County's Prairie Heritage Center
http://www.prairieheritagecenter.org/ is one of Iowa's newer County
Conservation Centers and offers the most spectacular view I've seen from a
county education center!

The sweeping view of the river valley from the education center windows is
simply breath-taking!
