Went to look for the egrets reported in Cedar Rapids today. I found them
in Manhattan Park off Ellis Road.

I counted five great egrets near the waters edge and four more birds
perched in a tree.  One was a Snowy Egret, a much smaller bird with
shorter neck and very dark bill.  Since it was perched in a tree, the
golden slippers (feet) were plainly visable.

The beautiful breeding plumage of all was blowing in the wind as it was a
very breezy morning.
