Hey I-Birders,
I took the dogs for a lovely morning walk at the Cherry Glen picnic area
on the east side of Saylorville Res. today. Quite interesting was a pair of
PEREGRINE FALCONS that soared into the area, circled above us at maybe 200 feet
for about a minute or so, then soared away. Great looks were had. Also seen was
my FOY BROWN THRASHER singing his mimid heart out at the top of a tree in the
sunshine. Also had RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, FOX SPARROW, AMERICAN TREE SPARROW,
EASTERN PHOEBE, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, COOPER'S HAWK, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER,
HERMIT THRUSHES (a dozen, maybe) and the other usual characters. On the lake
was one FRANKLIN'S GULL and good numbers of AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN. Saw no
swallows, curiously.
Good Birding,
