Had my first RB Grosbeak of the year at the feeders this morning, Harris' Sparrows showed up yesterday, still eight Pine Siskins hanging around as well.
When I got to my shop on Airport Road in Ames this morning I was welcomed by a sparrow fall out, White-throated, White-crowned,Lincolns,Song,Chipping, and Clay-colored covered the gravel parking lot. Also found RC Kinglets and a FOY Yellow Warbler. Ran to Brookside Park in Ames at lunchtime and walked the paved path that goes along the creek on the east side closest to 6th street. Numerous RC KInglets and Yellow-rumped Warblers around, also saw a pair of Bluebirds, Pheobe and the best was a singing Carolina Wren on the east side of the creek 40 or 50 yards north of the relatively new footbridge. Was able to get long distance photos, not great quality, but able to I.D. easily.
