Warbler-palooza seems a bit slow to come to our neighborhood. Hours of viewing at home on Wednesday (before the change in weather) yielded mostly Yellow-rumped warblers, and one Black-and-White. So, we headed to Squaw Creek Park where we saw more Yellow-rumped warblers, a Sharp-shinned Hawk, FOY House Wren, White-crowned Sparrow.
Thursday in the drizzle, Chipping Sparrow was the back yard winner in sheer numbers (8), seen many times all day. I finally spotted a FOY Nashville Warbler in late afternoon. Around 4:00 pm, our FOY hummingbird showed up, poor thing. Hope he found a warm place to shelter last night.
