I never in a million years thought May 3rd would be like this. I put extra jelly out in a feeder up against our house for our orioles. They immediately came to it since the main feeder had 6 inches of snow on it (I live in Albia). And the purple martins were stuck in their compartments because the holes were completely plugged with the snow and ice. I had to take the house and gourd rack down and scoop out the holes with my finger. What awful weather for them!!! Nicole Pumphrey Albia Iowa
