About an hour ago around 200 Chimney Swifts were circling over the Boone Public Library and its chimney. This is across the street from the Iowa Audubon office! Weird part was that it was snowing very heavy at the time. A very strange sight. I hope they did not go down the chimney (they were gone when I left the library), since the heat was on and there was probably carbon monoxide going up the chimney.
Lots of Yellow-rump Warblers feeding ont the wet road bed in McHose Park. At my feeders my Oriole population has increased and one was eating peanuts. A Red-headed Woodpecker was sighted near mu house this morning.
