I checked out the birds at Big Marsh today. There were fifteen species of warblers, numbers of shorebirds, flycatchers and sparrows.
Best birds were a Sandhill Crane in the marsh, Hudsonian Godwits, S. B. Dowitchers, Wilson's Phalaropes and a Sanderling outside of the marsh. A dozen or more N. Waterthrush, two dozen Common Yellowthroat, and Dicksissels and Bobolinks were back. It was good to see the marsh with water in it, though now there are lots of dead plants. The water level is still low.
