The warbler wave finally hit Winneshiek County. Walked through the floodplain forest immediately below the spectacular chimney rocks along the Upper Iowa River near Bluffton which is owned by the DNR on a beautiful calm evening amongst the bluebells. Warblers were everywhere. Ended up with 16 species. Tennessee warbler - 5 Northern parula - 3 Yellow warbler - 22 Chestnut-sided warbler - 2 Magnolia warbler - 7 Yellow-rumped warbler - 1 Black-throated green warbler - 2 Palm warbler - 6 Bay-breasted warbler - 1 Blackpoll warbler - 5 Black and white warbler - 14 American redstart - 97 Northern waterthrush - 1 Common yellowthroat - 13 Wilson's warbler - 5 Canada warbler - 1
