Little left from the fall out yesterday. One Magnolia, one Mourning, one Chestnut-sided and several Redstarts plus a couple of Phil. Vireos. Thrushes, Grosbeaks, Flycatchers, etc. gone, only two Catbirds remain.
Does anyone know if Barred Owls would re-nest with young barely out of the nest? Because otherwise I have to assume that the young were lost in the storm that took down so many large limbs, and now the female is back on a nest again. In fact, where a large limb broke off in the willow tree and left a stump area that is rather large, they have put their nest so I know it is a new laying of eggs.
