Birders, On Friday afternoon I found a Scarlet Tanager, Black-billed Cuckoo and Philadelphia Vireo at Christiansen Forest Preserve, just NE of Huxley. Also, sadly, I found a dead Blue Jay on the trail. There were a couple other Blue Jays a t the same spot, so I wonder if maybe it wandered too close to their nest??? I also heard a Wood Thrush.
