Earlier this afternoon, a single Black-necked Stilt was found at a flooded area along 420th St a mile south and a couple miles east of Swea City, Kossuth Co. Surprisingly, this was the only migrant shorebird I found despite abundant sheetwater in the north half of the county. Pied-billed Grebes, many coots, and variety of ducks seemed to think the opportunities were excellent. Also, a couple of partridge were seen near Maynard Reece WPA.
